Wow, what a book. When I look at what has happened in my life; hurts, disappoints and mistakes nothing compares to what Corrie, Betsy, Father, Toos, Willem, Kik and the millions of people during WWII had to endure. Yet, Corrie made a choice with God's awesome and powerful help, to forgive. I would find it very difficult to do that with everything she endured. Yet we see God all around that dark, dark time. The fact that her release was a "mistake", was such a God moment.
Forgiving isn't a feeling, it's an act. It is one of the hardest things to do. The enemy wants to to be wounded again, so we must choose to forgive again and again.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. No, our 10 year isn't ready. But in a few years he will be.
Lord, I choose to forgive those that have hurt me and to forgive myself. I will not let the enemy hold me down with his lies. Lord, let me remember that Jesus gave his life for me.
