What's in a Name?

So I'm sure many (I think all three of you as of this moment) are wondering about the Kaos part. Well, I will go back around 16 years, when my husband and I first started dating. I introduced him to the joys of cats. Yes, until that point he really didn't like cats. They would get on his car and scratch his paint. So, I let him know that the cat I had at that point in time was an indoor only cat, a black kitty named Jessica. So we soon adopted a kitten, Bauer, together. He was a blue and white tabby. Very flashy! He was Tony's cat and he made that clear to me!

Somehow he started researching cat shows. I don't know if he thought it would be better than horse shows or not, can't remember. By that time we had adopted two more cats. Mopar and Milky Way(Bear,Bear) were their names. We decided to enter a local show that allowed house hold pet cats(HHP's). They gave them titles and awards, just liek the purebred cats. We entered all three cats. Milky Way was a star!! Mopar wasn't feeling great. We lost him two weeks later to a string that got caught in his intestine. To this day I am a freak about strings and rubber band left around!!

Back to the name! Just like kennels and farms, those that raise cats or even just show cats come up with a cattery name to add to their cat's name. So Tony like Chaos. We couldn't use that because it was taken. So he said, "what about Kaos from the show Get Smart?" We both loved that show!! We could then use names that were about Chaos in general or about the show. Some of our cats have been or are: Blueprint of Kaos, No Fear of Kaos, and Kaos Maxwell Smart.

The name Kaos has been stamped onto everything we have done. Many years ago we got a web domain, teamkaos.org. I have run a dog/cat food delivery with the Kaos Pet Products name. We did drag racing for a few years with the TeamKaos Racing name. Now I use it with my photography, TeamKaos Photography.

Now one more thing on a name. My husband has two! Yes, at work he is John and at home he is Tony. His given name is John Anthony. His family has always called him Tony. So I have directly called him John about three times in the sixteen years we have been together. Once was on our wedding day 13 years ago! I have to remember when I go up to work to address him as John to his co-workers.

So I guess there are many things in a name, other than just letters.

Off to go do house work!
