The past several years I have spent more time than I care to in and out of doctors offices. Several years ago, after being persistent I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Disease (auto-immune thyroid disease). So for several years there was the push to get the balance correct. Finding that other factors pay into thyroid treatment, like iron and adrenals. Then in Sept of 2006 I start having major painful joint problems. So again after pushing, I found a wonderful Rheumtologist that finds an answer for me, Ankylosing Spondylitis. And now I go in for Remicade infusions every 6-8 weeks. But thank you Lord, I am at a good spot right now. I have been very blessed to be able to go back to riding horses again!
So today, why another appointment? This time it's the allergist. I take two nasal spays and very expensive eye drops. So they hold you hostage for refills and you must go in every six months. But I started having some issues two weeks ago. Shortly after drinking some wine at a wine tasting a few weeks ago, I had some stomach issues. My stomach was nutty for a week and a half. Then about a week ago in the middle of that, I started itching! Skin crawling, itching!! Arms and thighs with the occasional itch on the belly. I have some bumps on my arms in those spots.
So at this point I think the doctor thinks I'm a hypochondriac. I explained the food allergies that both of my sisters deal with. He says he will run the gluten antibodies, but thinks that either I picked up a bug or that I have something that is not quite full blown eczema. Ok, I thought I brought in that piece of paper.
So I have another RX to take Xyzal, for the itch! He will let me know about the gluten.
Off to check on the kids.....I hear noises :-(
